Phase 2 –Part 2 – Position-Pathfind: “Peeling the Onion: What could be our best option for Addressing Our World Leadership Crisis?”-05.16.23

by Peter A. Arthur-Smith, Leadership Solutions, Inc.®

“With more effective world leaders we would have greater collaboration, hunger and misery would be minimal, and our squabbles would be minor – all to the common good.”

What particularly struck you about our recent option solving exercise to resolve our world leadership crisis? Based upon the adjacent reproduction of our recent concluding option solving paradigm, we were left to decide on our most likely “optimum,” not perfect, option. Your author was particularly attracted to – Option D: Find talented volunteer spokesperson to act as key catalyst.

Such a move would likely bring the following advantages:

» Securing a people “connector” would open many doors

» He/She would bring great goodwill toward our intent

» He/She would help attract initial financial support

» He/She would surround themselves with a volunteer, enlightened leadership (EL) Start-up Team of six – Expansionist, Innovationist, Provisionist, Operationist, Promotionist and Humanist.

» He/She would become an ambassador of EL principles and values.

(NOTE: While your author can meet some of these requirements, other key ones would be missing. Do you know of someone who could meet all these requirements?)

So, returning to the notion of Peeling the Onion, to reveal sub-options that may bear the greatest fruit; this is where we take potential Option D and peel it away to find helpful sub-options that add will to our many advantages. Consequently, “Peeling the Onion” means another round of sub-Option Solving based upon Option D and so our kick-off question now becomes:

“What could be our optimum option for eventually addressing our World Leadership Crisis through the UN – utilizing Option D: Find talented volunteer spokesperson to act as key catalyst; considering 1) overcoming entrenched, conventional management forces, 2) enlisting the right institutional support, 3) enlisting the right spokesperson to inspire maximum attention, and 4) engaging the right public forums and media? (NOTE: Our considerations will pretty much stay the same, since they are still quite appropriate.)

At this stage of sub-option solving we will continue to work with the same two OS “bookends,” since they are still relevant:

» Bookend X – Wait for the right catalyst-spokesperson to come along

» Bookend Y – Seek major financial backer to launch campaign

(NOTE – Our intuitive minds will most likely consider the impediments with these, but brush them aside.)

That positions us to now focus on a new range of “sub-options” as follows with no order of preference:

» Option AA – Seek out natural people “connectors” to nominate candidates for us

» Option BB – Enlist luminaries that may be willing to nominate candidates for us

» Option CC – Enlist prime leadership organizations, e.g. US Chamber of Commerce, to nominate someone for us

» Option DD – Notification on LinkedIn, etc., for likely individuals to apply to us

» Option EE – Clarify criteria for likely interested individuals to apply to us

» Option FF– EL newsletter readers to nominate possible candidates for us

(NOTE: You are welcome to replace any of this author’s suggestions.)

This brings us to the adjacent new OS paradigm to allow our sub-conscious intuition to mull over these proposed sub-options and make a further sub-choice/selection.

Again, your author is drawn to sub-option EE – Clarify criteria for likely individuals to apply/pursue this role. This will nicely link into Phase 3 of our enlightened leadership cycle –that is, Engage and Involve the right person. That will require formulating the right competences and capabilities needed by this special person to fulfill this initial voluntary leadership role.

We continue to look forward to your participation as a starting point to help find a solution to this vexing World Leadership issue. Again, the good news is that we have more competent leaders in our midst than many of the ones we have today! We just have to find a more positive way to bring them forward, especially as some of them are too humble – and likely politically horrified – to thrust themselves forward.
